Cytotec is commonly used in maternity units across the country for cervical ripening and also for postpartum hemorrhage...but should it be? Today we'll learn all about Cytotec (misoprostol) directly for the drug insert. You will learn about how it relates to things like uterine rupture and other catastrophic outcomes. Most of the time conversation about how to feed your baby centers around the nutrient value of breastfeeding versus formula feeding. That is a very important conversation, obviously. But as is often the case, when we move away from God’s design, there is a “trickle down” impact that flows into so many other areas of life that we maybe didn’t consider. Today I want to talk with you about the consequences outside of nutrition alone that feeding with a bottle and using a pacifier can have on your baby — and yes, this includes pumping and bottle feeding.

If you are were in the path of Hurricane Helene and you are pregnant nearing delivery, you are probably terrified right now of what's going to happen if you go into labor. Or if you are listening to this sometime in the future, you might find yourself in a place where you can't get the assistance you need for another reason. This episode is a desperate attempt to get information to the moms who need it right now in areas of Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, and parts of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida who might be in a position that they are facing labor alone, unplanned. There are women who are going to have an unassisted birth at home even though they planned a hospital birth with all the interventions....and that's a scary place to be. I want to help those women.
I know many of these places don't have electricity right now or internet/cell service, but some are being restored even though their roads are still washed out. So my plea to anyone listening to this today is that you share this as far and wide as you can so that hopefully this will reach the mamas who need it right now. I'm releasing it early rather than waiting until my usual release date of Tuesday morning to try to get a jump start on it. There will also be a YouTube video with the same information in case that is easier to share. This is my attempt to help anyone I can as I sit helpless in middle Tennessee, unable to go be with these women who are essentially cut off from society. My prayer is this helps at least one mom. I ask you to help me do that.

Today I’m sharing part 3 of the recording of a presentation I did back in February called "Sharpen Your Health". This presentation was given to a group of Christian homeschoolers, so it is NOT a pregnant crowd. In other words, this episode with have a lot of information that is applicable to EVERYONE, not just pregnant moms. This will be split up into 3 episodes because it is a LOT of information to process. This part deals with trusting God with your immune system and leaning on His way of healing rather than the man-made imitation we find being pushed on us.

God made breastfeeding as the best way to feed a newborn baby, but in our currently world and culture, many people choose other routes to feed their babies. How we choose to feed our babies has consequences and one of those consequences is the time commitment of how long each way will take out of your day. This is a side of the topic I don't see discussed much, so I wanted to break down the reality of how long feedings take for breastfeeding, formula feeding, and pumping and bottle feeding the expressed breast milk.

I get a lot of questions about doulas and whether you need one for your birth at the hospital, home, or in a birth center, so today I’m going to take a few minutes to explain what a doula is, what they do, and whether you need one for your birth based on where you plan to have your baby.
